Office refurbishment Embankment

THE ADELPHI BUILDING

City of Westminster

John Adam St, London WC2N 6HT

Level 10, External Terraces

The Adelphi, a landmark office building in Covent Garden, epitomizes London's architectural heritage. With 15 floors, it overlooks the Victoria Embankment gardens.

This project involved the refurbishment of terraces to the 10th floor of the Adelphi Building. The area was used only as a maintenance access area while the Client wanted to create an outdoor space for the incoming tenant on the floor.

Arcata Projects exceeded Client expectations by finalising the whole design (not only the CDPs), including structural calculations for the new external balustrade and level surveys for the new external paving. Works were delivered on time and within budget.

A summary of the works:

Alterations of window to create access door openings to the terraces.

New automatic doors

New external lighting

External fire alarm

New steel balustrade

New external paving on shims and pedestals
